Emil Zatopek is the only human to win the 5km, 10km and marathon gold medals - all at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. It was his first ever competitive marathon. This captivating story is engagingly told in Richard Askwith's 2016 biography of Emil, during which he describes how at the starting line before the marathon, Emil turned to his competitors and said - "Men, Today we Die A Little".
